The Epic X Skeleton embodies Jacob & Co.’s philosophy at its most distilled—radical architecture, minimal surfaces, and a commitment to mechanical spectacle. Introduced in 2016, this collection marked a clear shift for the brand: away from ornamentation for its own sake, and toward structural artistry where design and mechanics exist in total synthesis. Here, form follows the X. The movement’s vertical skeleton bridges echo the case’s X-shaped lugs, creating a seamless visual thread from the case exterior into the beating heart of the watch. The JCAM45 calibre, developed specifically for this model, suspends its components within a void, replacing traditional mainplates with negative space. Every hollow, every bevel, and every brushed or polished surface has been crafted to let the light in—both literally and metaphorically. At 44mm, the titanium case offers a bold presence while remaining lightweight and wearable. A black Neoralithe inner ring adds contrast, framing the skeletonised movement without stealing focus. From the honeycomb rubber strap to the openworked hands, every element reinforces the Epic X Skeleton’s dual identity: a fine mechanical watch and a modern design object.
